The empty misty hall echoed in horror, as Zac bloated wall after wall. The doors sang open with a frosty bite when Zoe tempted inside with worry.  One look at each other,  Zac and Zoe field in the attic.  “Clash!!”. The  window was now in bits, the house was wounded as Zac and Zoe kept concealed away like unwanted creatures.  Zoe visualized their abnormal life’s heading into isolation, being used for necessary but not necessary experiments. Zac glazed in the now occupied landmark with tencedy.

This task is about helping us with our goals on “Vocabulary”. This was to focus on to use more juices vocab/words.  I think that this was the best I have ever done on my “Great Beginning”.

Prefixes & Suffixes

This task is understanding what Prefixes & Suffixes is.  I now know that adding Prefixes & Suffixes to the root word world change that meaning of the word. Example Prefixes letters before the root word,   un means not  and our root word is happy together it is unhappy. Suffixes is letters after the root word – teach is our root word add a suffix er together it is teacher.

Simile

This writing task is call simile. Simile is one of the figurative language, figurative language is an expression that other like writers use in writing, one of which is simile. Simile is when you compare one thing to another using “like” or “as”.  E.g   She was bright like a star / She was bright as a star.

Myths & Legends

Introduction-  What are Myths and Legends? –

Myths are stories that are passed down about how or why something came to be. Legends are designed to teach a lesson about a real person in history, with a few facts. I have chosen to dig deeper and seek more on, “What is the difference between Myths and Legends?” secondly on “Why are myths and legends important? Lastly “How did myths and legends come to existence?

What is the difference between myth and legends? –

Myths are stories that are based on tradition. Some have factual origins and others are just overflowed with fictional ideas. Myths are more than just stories, they serve a more profound purpose in ancient and modern cultures. Myths are sacred tales that describe the world  or a man’s experience. Myths are as relevant to us today as they were to our  ancestors. It is  there to answer timeless questions  and serve as a compass to each generation.

Legends are stories that take place within  human history. Legends are generally believed to be the root of the truth, but over time it has evolved and taken on fictional features. Legends is about a particular person or a duo’s actions or deeds. Stories about people mentioned in history are often told for a purpose, and  are based on facts but they aren’t always fully true.

The main difference between these two topics is that myths are traditional stories. Particularly one, considering  the start of humanity or explaining a mutual or social phenomenon. Usually involving supernatural characters or events. On the contrary, legends are traditional narratives, sometimes it’s commonly considered historical but has not been authenticated.

Why are Myths and Legends important? –

Legends and Myths are to reflect and tell the deepest aspects of history of one’s culture’s production of an event or thauga(treasure). Addition to that, narrating tales that serve as a guidance for the future generations, of the humble beginnings of the existence and beliefs of the ancestral discover and arise.

How do myths and legends come to existence? –

Myths and legends  came to  existence, just as soon as humanity mastered the ability to write.  Often every first text was a written anthem to gods or assembly mythological stories that became organized into cycles. Explaining how the world was created, how humans came into light or why death is necessary.

Conclusion –

As a result, myths are to tell how something or someone came into light. Legends are traditional narratives told about a particular place or person.

That was Matariki

Kia Ora,

For writing this week Team Tui have been working on “That was Matariki”

We were instructed to pick 3 or more stars of Matariki to describe one of our 5 senses.  But unknowingly I did all 5 senses and I am proud of it.

The hardest part about this was what event would I base the senses on.

Lucky the Matariki stars’ purposes worked hand in hand with what I had in mind.  Overall I had the fullest joy writing about it.

Hope you all have a happy Matariki.

Don’t forget to leave a comment.

Great beginning

Great Beginning

The calm, sad forest was silent, the only sound I could hear was an owl hooting and a horrifying figure under the frozen water moving about. Laying in a boat stuck in the middle of the lake feeling the gentle snow sadly falling onto my pale face. Stuck in a lake like a cat on a tree  wondering  if someone would find me, asking my cold self am I going to live?  I could hear the Pearl voice inside my head laughing. It made me want to live a little longer to get my revenge. Reliving my past was another opportunity for my future but I  failed.

Plan:

Place – Forest

Time – Night

Sound – owl, something under the frozen lake.

Air – Snow

Setting – middle of a frozen lake

Person – Pearl

Actions – Laying in side the boat

Question/wonder – I wonder if anyone is going to find me, am I going to live.
